If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of
a big surprise lots & lots of beautiful Bluebells!
With that in mind, Dave & I went looking for the violet-blue wildflowers in our local woods at Beckford in Gloucestershire a couple of weekends ago.
Our trail started by the Village Church & led up to the Beckford Nature Reserve to circuit around it, then worked it’s way up to a farm. Once past this, we followed the path around the outskirts of fields & in to the woods, before dropping back down & ending where we began.
It was great to get some fresh air & the surrounding colours dazzled in the sun. The views were pretty spectacular too!
Common Bluebells carpeted the woodland floor & thus, it all looked beautiful. Splashes of bright colour were everywhere we turned & each flower was trying to catch the sunlight seeping through the trees.
Some of the local wildlife were out & about too. We spotted Hare, Common Rabbit, Deer, Tufted Ducks, Mute Swan & Orange-tip Butterflies.
We enjoyed a wonderful few hours & will definitely visit our local nature hot-spot again.
