A girly Christmas Afternoon Tea? That’s certainly my idea of a good Saturday afternoon and it’s exactly what I had a couple of weekends ago!
Together with a few girlfriends and the most chilled out little 2 month old, I headed to Char’s house for an afternoon of festivities and food.
Once we’d met and had lots of cuddles with the newest – and adorable – member of the group, we got down to our Christmas Afternoon Tea. Char and Laura had done a wonderful job of decorating, with cute pink and white girly pieces dotted around.
The gorgeous crockery and tea sets were provided by Naomi Jayne Vintage Hire. The quality is excellent and because we were sipping from proper china cups and swiping sandwiches from posh tiered stands, it made the afternoon feel even more special than it already was.
Laura, the talented baker behind Laura’s Cakes, had baked some girly, glittery Christmas cupcakes, which were divine. So cute too! She had also made some delicious pink and white chocolate bark with festive sprinkles! If you’re after cupcakes or cakes, Laura’s Cakes should definitely be your first port of call.
The whole table looked pretty and magical!
We drank tea, nibbled at tasty sandwiches, munched on seasonal snacks, spread jam and cream on to scones and chatted non-stop. All topped off with a glass of shimmering prosecco. We felt so decadent!
As we started to feel stuffed and opted for a break, the secret santa presents came out – even though they didn’t stay secret for long, oops! We swapped gifts and tore off the wrapping paper to see the goodies inside. Everyone was pleased with their presents and all had a good giggle along the way. Thank you to my Secret Santa, *cough* Char *cough*, I loved mine!
I came away with a big smile on my face and also, feeling utterly festive. Hopefully this will be the start of a new yearly tradition…I, for one, could definitely get used to it!
