Afternoon on the Malvern Hills

On a recent Sunday, I travelled to meet my friend, Caz, for a catch up and walk on the Malvern Hills.

We parked in the Peachfield Road car park and started walking upwards. Unusually for me, we didn’t follow a route and went with the flow. It felt a little strange at first but quickly became fun, not knowing where we were really going or how far we’d go. Although it was quite a long slog, we made it to the top in decent time!

I’m sure the photos speak for themselves but to confirm, the views at the tops of the hills were awesome. We could see for miles, in all directions, over Worcestershire and Herefordshire. If it hadn’t been quite so windy, I imagine we’d have stayed up there longer!

On the way back down the Malvern Hills, Caz and I became peckish and opted for lunch at the Mount Pleasant Hotel. Both of us ordered the beef burger and what an excellent choice it was. The meal was ah-may-zing!! The burger was so big and full that we could barely take a bite! In the end, we resorted to using our knife and fork and neither of us could finish it. It was definitely delish!

I spent another lovely afternoon with my lovely friend. It’s also got me thinking about going up the Malvern Hills more, with a view to walk from one end to the other in the future. Watch this space…
