Every few months, two of my girlfriends and I like to meet up to have a long catch up and eat cake; which consequently, we have now dubbed as our ‘cake dates’. For the first cake date of 2016, we decided to head to Café au Chocolat in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.
This café has a relaxed and homely vibe to it, but still retains an air of trendiness. A wide range of drinks and cakes, as well as other tasty treats are on offer and on this occasion, Jodie and I settled on a Cream Tea (mine with a Cappuccino) and Nikki went for a slice of Victoria Sponge; which we all agreed were utterly scrumptious!
Café au Chocolat also has various other offerings including slabs of tasty and interesting flavoured chocolate, ale with a hint of chocolate and chocolate wine! Dogs are allowed inside too – this includes their gorgeous resident chocolate Lab, Alfie – making for an even friendlier and nicer atmosphere.
Us ladies had a lovely couple of hours chit chattering away and will be sure to go there again; next time, I’ll definitely focus on one of their chocolate specialities instead though!
