Nestled near Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds is the Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre and what better time to visit than when autumn is in full swing and showing off it’s array of wonderful colours!
Dave and I went to the Arboretum with his parents and armed with a little map given to us on entry, the morning was spent walking around in the glorious sunshine and taking in the stunning sights of the various trees, plants and flowers. It was truly beautiful!
The Fall colour was definitely something to behold, with every turn showing another splash of yellow, red, orange, green and so on. It was also clear that the grounds were well taken care of and although it’s their busiest time of year, we didn’t find ourselves bumping in to others too often; it was as if we had the whole place to ourselves!
Afterwards, we took time to wander around the Woodturning Shop and Gift Shop. Graham and Penny purchased a gorgeous clock from the Woodturner and we bought some stunning glass Autumnal coasters and a wooden Christmas countdown block – money well spent on all accounts!
Batsford Arboretum is definitely worth the visit; so much so that we’ve already agreed to explore it again in the different seasons and I can’t wait.
