I am very much the serial planner in mine and Dave’s relationship; so for New Year, I asked Dave to book/organise something for us to do. After a couple of months of gently reminding – and annoying – him, he admitted that he and our friend, Carl, had booked a weekend away and that Jodie (Carl’s girlfriend) and I weren’t going to be told anything until Friday 29th December.
We tried very hard to get more information out of them but they wouldn’t budge. This meant that when the day finally came around, the excitement almost made me burst as we set out in the car to our mystery destination!
Despite being stuck in horrendous traffic, our spirits were still high as we pulled up next to our accommodation in Bossiney, Cornwall. I have to hand it to the men, they’d done extremely well and had booked 2 nights in a log cabin with a hot tub and beautiful views.
On the Saturday, we headed over to St. Nectan’s Glen Waterfalls, which were absolutely beautiful.
We then spent New Year’s Eve at the cabin with drinks, nibbles, games and the glorious hot tub, it was great fun!
For New Year’s Day, we had planned on going for a beach walk but woke up to heavy rain and decided to spend some more time in the hot tub instead, before packing up our things and going home.
It was a wonderful weekend spent celebrating with wonderful people and Jodie and I are so proud and impressed with our other halves. Now to start planning what we’re going to do for them next year!
