“Go Grease Lightnin’, you’re burning up the quarter-mile…!”
It’s a film we all know and love. Combining romance, drama, racing and humour, this film oozes warmth and good feeling. Therefore, when my Mum, Auntie and I found out that ‘Grease’ was going to be shown at a drive-in in Gloucestershire, we booked tickets straight away!
We rocked up to The Classic Motor Hub in Bidford and found the perfect spot to park up in.
We pitched up our camping chairs in prime positions, before cracking open some bubbly and starting on the picnic.
After eating most of the food, we took a stroll through the grounds. We listened to the live music & took in the delicious aromas coming from the locally sourced food stands.
Since there were a lot of classic cars that had turned up, it felt like we were stepping in to another decade! We also fell in love a
few lot of these cars and with those that were already in the show room!
There was a joyous buzz in the air, despite it being chilly; along with a beautiful sunset.
As dusk started to roll in, ‘Grease’ came on the big screen. It was brilliant! It was made even more magical because the film was being echoed through the car radios around us. We laughed, we boo’d but most of all, we all sang our hearts out!
We left the ‘Grease’ drive-in feeling nostalgic, warm and full of that blissful feeling you can’t get from anywhere else than from having a sing-along.
The Classic Motor Hub also has another more drive-in nights coming up: ‘Casablanca’ on 30th September. For £15 per car, going to one really is a must!
