May 2019 Highlights

May, you were certainly a busy month! Here are the photography highlights.

I spent the first Saturday in May with girlfriends in Bath. We had our ears pierced, ate lunch and went sight-seeing. It was a great day. Bath is such a gorgeous city and I definitely want to revisit in the future!

The day after Bath, Jodie and I went on an adventure to Wales to do the Four Waterfalls Walk in the Brecon Beacons. It was an absolutely awesome day. We even walked behind one of the waterfalls, which was quite the experience!

I also photographed my second official wedding in May and it was beautiful. Vicky and Clive were a brilliant couple and I loved every minute of capturing their special day.

Following the wedding, I finally did something I’d been wanting to for over a year… I upgraded my kit! I said hello to my new beauty, the Canon 5D Mark IV and the Canon EF 24-105mm 4L IS II USM lens. The camera has been in my possession for two weeks and I’m already head over heels in love. It is taking a little bit of getting used to though. I can’t wait to give it a proper run with the next wedding I have booked in for October now – at least I have plenty of time to get some practicing in before then, including capturing these gorgeous ‘Lady of Shalott’ David Austin Roses!

The annual camping trip with my friends took place on the second May bank holiday. This time, we pitched up in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It was a weekend full of camping, food, beaches, adventures, drinks and laughter… Perfect!

Dave and I took time out during the quieter weekend’s to make a few recipes found on Pinterest and we even started meal prepping this week – more on that for next month. My favourite recipe of the month was the Loaded Veggie Salad from Pip & Ebby. Actually, this isn’t technically a new recipe to us. We first tried it last year and it has since become a staple in the household. It’s a fresh salad without using any *cough* boring *cough* leaves. We also add grilled chicken, which finished the meal off nicely!

May was very busy. But a lot of it was spent editing photos and it’s likely to be the same in June too. But I still have a few fun things planned, stay tuned for more next month…
