June & July Highlights

As you may or may not have noticed, a post about my June highlights was completely missed last month and it’s now the middle of August and July hasn’t been posted either. Oops! In my defence, I’ve been snowed under with wedding photography editing, work and general life. Therefore, my blog has been put on the back burner. Although life is still a little crazy, I thought it was about time that I get you up to date on the last couple months.

JUNE
LIFE.

At the beginning of June, a childhood dream of mine came true. Jodie, Nikki and I went to watch the Spice Girls live at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. The Spice Girls were everything I dreamed they’d be an more!! It was an unforgettable night where I sang my heart out to all the favourites and enjoyed every minute with my girlfriends. Girl power forever!

June also saw the start of my Auntie’s 50th birthday celebrations. With an Absolute 80’s Butlins weekend at Minehead no less! It was four days of laughter, drinking, eating, dancing, fancy dress and fun. Myself and another Amy even stayed up all night on the Saturday, who knew we could still do that?! We all had a blast and a reunion is already in the works.

The weather started to become a little sunnier and more summer appropriate, so I joined my family on a couple of strolls in Tewkesbury. The first was with my Mum, Auntie and Gran and was totally lovely. We went for breakfast, walked by the river, enjoyed the flowers in the gardens and finished it all with an ice cream in the sunshine.

The second time was specifically to complete the Tewkesbury Ham walk. On the hottest day of June no less, what were we thinking?! But still, it was a lovely morning and again, finished with a very yummy ice cream at the end. Well, when the sun is out, you have to, right?!

June ended with a BBQ to celebrate Mark’s 30th birthday. We had a lush evening of delicious drinks, tasty food and some games with awesome friends!

JULY
LIFE.

July started with a delightful trek up the Malvern Hills with my wonderful friend, Caz. We spent the entire time chatting like there was no tomorrow and added another fabulous adventure to our ever-growing list of adventures.

As I was away for my birthday, Dave and I met with some of my friends for a fun evening of Mr Mulligan’s Lost World Mini Golf, dinner and drinks – see more on the dessert below. The mini golf was great, although I absolutely sucked – no surprises there! Also no surprise was the fact that Dave won. Again. But Jodie wasn’t far behind, so well done her! One of these days, we’ll definitely beat him!

I spent my birthday in Pembrokeshire, as Dave and I had gone down for a long weekend to bid farewell to the caravan. We had a fantastic weekend! We admired the view from Moylegrove, explored the Llwyngwair Manor Holiday Park, completed at Treasure Trail and spectacular circular walk at St Davids and enjoyed Newport Beach and one of it’s coastal paths. It was a weekend I will never forget and I had the best time.

FOOD & DRINK.

After my walk up the Malverns with Caz, we both devoured the burgers from the Mount Pleasant Hotel. They were incredible and I would highly recommend them!

Another burger delight from the month was found at the Castle Inn at Newport. In true Dave and Amy style, we ordered one lamb and one beef, cut them in half and shared them. Both were equally scrumptious!

A dessert highlight from July had to be Creams. After mini golf and food at the Bottle and Sauce, the group were wanting something sweet. Creams hit the spot and we feasted on ice cream, waffles and hot cookie dough. Talk about tasty! The decor was rather cool too!

Finally on the subject of July’s food and drink highlights, dinner and drinks in Worcester. For mine and Mum’s catch up, we started off with cocktails at Bolero. Being two for £10 made the drinks even better and we ended up having two rounds! We both went for the Summer Cooler for the first and I changed to a Candy Floss Fizz for the second. They were yummy and would highly recommend both!

For dinner, we went to our favourite spot: The Olive Branch. The food was delicious and the cocktail we enjoyed outside was even more so. Again, we would recommend this restaurant if you’re ever in Worcester!

All in all, June and July were awesome two months. They were both full of fun and lovely things and I have made even memories to last a life time.
